Accessibility at Flame & Bowl
Access for everyone.
A website you can use with a keyboard, a screen reader, or the settings that work for you.
What we have done
This site is built to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. It is built in, not bolted on — there is no accessibility overlay on this site, because overlays paper over problems rather than fixing them.
- A skip link as the first thing you reach with the keyboard, and real landmarks on every page.
- One descriptive heading 1 per page and a heading outline with no skipped levels.
- Every control reachable and operable by keyboard, with a focus ring contrast-tested against both the near-black background and the orange fills.
- The bowl builder uses real radio and checkbox semantics, and announces the running totals politely as they change.
- Descriptive alt text in both languages on every meaningful image, and empty alt on decorative ones.
- Animations respect your device’s reduced-motion setting. You can also pause decorative animations using the control in the footer; your choice is saved in this browser. The logo flame animates only while visible and stops when the page is hidden. Page content remains available with animations paused or JavaScript disabled.
- The allergen chart is a real table with proper headers, not a picture of a table.
- Text contrast is verified against the background at AA on every page.
Where we know we fall short
Photography carries a lot of the appetite appeal here, and while every image has alt text, a description cannot fully replace seeing the food. Our menu prices and nutrition figures are estimates from standard recipes, and the delivery apps we link out to are not under our control and do not meet this standard.
Tell us what is broken
If any part of this site or the restaurant itself gets in your way, tell us and we will fix it. Reaching us should never be the hard part.
We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 AA.
